Join our kickoff meeting September 1st!
Our Acts of Kindness (AOK) fundraiser turns fundraising into pure Scouting spirit. Instead of selling popcorn, candy bars, or wrapping paper, our Scouts ask friends and family to sponsor them with flat donations. In return, our Scouts "pay it forward" by completing good deeds, helpful chores, and community service projects throughout our neighborhoods, schools, and homes.
A Scout is Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, and Kind. Through AOK, every dollar raised connects directly to making our community a better place while allowing every family to fund their Scouting year out-of-pocket free.
Scouting teaches youth to be resourceful and earn their own adventures. Net funds raised by your Scout go directly toward their individual Scouting expenses:
100% Annual Dues & Registration Offset: Donations raised apply directly to cover both your local Pack dues and the annual Scouting America national membership fee ($85). With active participation, your family pays $0 out of pocket for the year.
Arrow of Light (AOL) Summer Camp Credit: For our 5th-grade AOL Scouts preparing to bridge into a Scouts BSA Troop, funds raised beyond annual dues can be banked toward their first week of Scouts BSA Summer Camp with their new Troop (typically ~$450).
Individual Scout Account Carryover: Extra funds raised beyond the current year’s target stay in your Scout’s dedicated unit account. Balances roll over year after year to cover future registrations, high-adventure campouts, or council-approved events.
Scout Account Guidelines:
Scouting Use Only: Account balances apply solely to official Scouting expenses (membership renewals, Pack dues, approved campouts, and official activity fees).
No Cash Value: Funds cannot be cashed out, refunded, or disbursed as personal cash. All reimbursements require advance pre-authorization from the Pack Committee Chair prior to purchase.
Instead of selling boxes of popcorn or candy to people, you are going to do something much cooler: you're going to give back! Family and friends donate money to support our pack's camping trips, Pinewood Derby cars, and badges. To say thank you, you promise to do awesome acts of kindness and helpful chores for your family, neighbors, and teachers. You earn your own way in Scouting by making the world a nicer place!
Whether your Scout is recording a short video for family, calling grandparents, or talking to a neighbor, here are easy-to-use scripts matched to their grade level.
Keep it short, sweet, and focused on helpfulness.
"Hi [Name]! I’m a Cub Scout in Pack [Pack Number]. This year, I am doing an Acts of Kindness project! Instead of selling things, I’m doing good deeds—like helping around the house, cleaning up toys, and being kind to others. Will you sponsor me with a donation to help my Cub Scout pack go camping? Thank you for helping me be a good Scout!"
More descriptive, connecting the donation to specific adventures and kindness goals.
"Hi [Name]! As a Cub Scout, I promise to help other people at all times. For our fall fundraiser, I’m raising money for our campouts, Pinewood Derby race, and STEM activities by doing an Acts of Kindness challenge! My goal is to complete [Number, e.g., 15] acts of service in our neighborhood and at home. Would you consider sponsoring me with a donation to support my pack? I’ll make sure to log an act of kindness in your honor!"
Independent, goal-oriented, and focused on leadership and troop transition.
"Hello [Name]! I’m an Arrow of Light Scout in Pack [Pack Number], preparing to bridge into a Scouts BSA Troop. This year, I am working to earn my own way for our annual registration and my upcoming Scouts BSA Summer Camp through our Acts of Kindness service campaign. Instead of product sales, I’m dedicating [Number, e.g., 20] hours to community service, environmental cleanups, and helping neighbors. Would you be willing to support my Scouting journey with a donation? Your contribution directly funds my camp training and helps me put Scouting values into action."
Set Up & Share Your Scout’s Page (Day 1): Add 5 to 10 email addresses or phone numbers of close relatives, godparents, and family friends who love supporting your Scout.
Pick 5 Starter Acts of Kindness: Sit down with your Scout and make a quick list of good deeds they want to accomplish this week (e.g., raking a neighbor's yard, writing thank-you cards for local firefighters, walking a neighbor's dog, organizing the den game box).
Log & Share Updates: Post photos or short updates of your Scout completing their service acts so your donors can see their contributions in action!

We wrap up our Acts of Kindness campaign with our biggest, highest-impact service tradition of the year: Scouting for Food!
Instead of ending our fundraiser with an administrative tally, our entire pack comes together in full Class A uniform to turn our collective kindness into tons of real, tangible support for local families facing food insecurity.
Every step of our Scouting for Food weekend counts directly toward your Scout's Acts of Kindness goals:
Door-to-Door Bag Distribution: Walking neighborhood routes together to leave collection bags and donation notices.
Porch Pickup & Retrieval: Collecting filled grocery bags left out by generous neighbors.
Sorting & Quality Check: Working together at our collection hub to organize canned goods, check expiration dates, and box items by category.
Loading & Pantry Delivery: Helping pack delivery vehicles and stocking local food pantry shelves.
Personal Pantry Giving: Scouts picking out favorite shelf-stable items from home to donate directly.
Once the final box of food is loaded and weighed, our entire pack gathers to celebrate the incredible difference we made together:
The Big Reveal: We reveal both our pack's total food collected (in pounds) and the total Acts of Kindness completed across the entire campaign!
Scout Recognition: Every participating Scout receives their official Acts of Kindness Event Patch and celebration treat.
Donor Impact Photos: We snap an epic group photo of the pack surrounded by our wall of collected food boxes—giving parents the ultimate update photo to share with family, friends, and donors who sponsored them!
