The classic 4-ingredient dump cobbler: pie filling, cake mix, butter and cinnamon in a 12-inch Dutch oven.
Ingredients
* 2 cans (21 oz) pie filling (cherry, apple, peach or mixed)
* 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow or white cake mix
* 2 sticks of butter, cut into thin pats
* 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
Here are the steps Camp Cobbler in a Dutch oven:
Light the coals. Light about 24 charcoal briquettes and wait 15–20 minutes, until they're gray on the edges.
Prep the oven. Line it with Dutch oven liner for easy cleanup & cut 1 stick of butter into thin pats and lay them across the liner evenly.
Add the filling. Pour in both cans of pie filling, spread it evenly, and sprinkle with half the cinnamon.
Add the cake mix. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the filling. Don't stir.
Add the butter. Cut 1 stick of butter into thin pats and lay them across the top to cover as much of the mix as you can. Dust with the rest of the cinnamon.
Bake. Put the lid on. Set the oven on about 8 coals and put about 16 coals on the lid, which gives roughly 350°F. Every 15 minutes, turn the oven a quarter turn one way and the lid a quarter turn the other.
Check it. Start checking at 35 minutes; it usually takes 40–50. It's done when the top is golden and the filling is bubbling at the edges.
Rest and serve. Brush the ash off the lid before you lift it, then let the cobbler sit about 10 minutes.
