Join our kickoff meeting September 1st!
Welcome, Pack 970 families! Popcorn is our Pack’s most important fundraiser of the year. By participating, you can cover all or part of your Scout’s annual dues while supporting the adventures we love and the camps we use. This year’s fundraiser runs September - October weekends, with the final day of sales in early November. Together, let’s Fuel Your Adventure!
Selling popcorn is a classic Scouting tradition that builds real-world life skills—including goal setting, money management, customer service, and public speaking.
While our Acts of Kindness campaign allows Scouts to earn individual credit toward their personal dues and camp fees, Popcorn sales power the collective engine of Pack 970. Every kernel sold directly funds the pack-wide activities, equipment, and recognitions that make our program exceptional for all families.

Popcorn proceeds go directly into the Pack 970 General Operating Fund, which directly reduces overall Scouting costs across the board:
Subsidizing Pack Campouts & Events: Helps keep registration costs minimal for family campouts, district events, and pack day trips.
Funding Badges & Advancement: Covers the cost of rank advancements, adventure loops, pins, and neckerchiefs so your Scout is recognized without nickel-and-diming families.
Pack Equipment & Meeting Supplies: Maintains our Pinewood Derby track, pack trailer, camping gear, STEM kits, and craft materials.
Keeping Overall Dues Low: Robust popcorn revenue keeps baseline annual pack dues as affordable as possible for every single registered family.
Scouts can choose any combination of these three selling methods to hit their goals:
What It Is: Scouts sign up for 1- to 2-hour shifts outside local community retail partners (like grocery stores or hardware retailers) alongside fellow den members.
Why It Works: Customers are already out shopping, inventory is on hand for immediate sale, and selling with fellow Scouts is fun, motivating, and builds camaraderie.
Safety & Guidelines: Scouts wear full Class A field uniforms and must be accompanied by an adult. All shifts are scheduled via the Trail’s End app.
What It Is: Create your Scout’s profile via the Trail’s End App and share their unique link via text, email, or social media.
Why It Works: Trail’s End ships premium products directly to the customer’s doorstep anywhere in the country—zero product delivery required by parents!
What It Is: Scouts take a paper order form or use the mobile app while walking door-to-door with parents through their neighborhood, or bring order forms to parents' workplaces.
Why It Works: Neighbors love supporting the kids on their own street, and direct face-to-face interaction is where Scouts learn the strongest interpersonal communication skills.
When you sell popcorn, you’re not just selling a delicious snack—you’re helping our entire pack go on awesome adventures! The money you raise helps pay for our big camping trips, rocket launches, Pinewood Derby trophies, and all the cool badges you earn. Plus, the more you sell, the more Amazon gift cards and Scout gear rewards you can earn for yourself through the Trail’s End app!Â

Q: What should my Scout wear for storefront sales?
A: Scouts should wear their Class A uniform (button up shirt, not the tshirt).
Q: How do we handle money at storefronts or wagon sales?
A: Log all payments in the Trail’s End app. Cash/checks can be collected but must be entered and remitted through the app’s “Pay Now” feature.
Q: Can siblings or parents help at storefront shifts?
A: Parents must be present. Siblings can help cheer, but only registered Scouts earn dues credit.
Q: What if multiple Scouts (like siblings) are working the same storefront shift?
A: Sales from that shift are split evenly among the Scouts present.
Q: What if we can’t make storefront shifts?
A: Focus on online sales.Â
Q: Who do I contact with questions?
A: Contact our Popcorn Kernel, Scott Scarborough, at scottmegan07@gmail.com or call/text (469) 323-6548.
